Chapter Success Committee
This committee champions Strategic Blueprint initiatives and other work at the direction of the National Board of Directors related to positioning our local chapters for success. This includes evaluating the purpose, roles, structure, and alignment of our chapters within the national organization; leading initiatives that support chapter operations at every stage; and working towards increasing the number of local chapters.
In our current Action Plan, some of the specific tasks this committee is working on include:
- Evaluate the processes, requirements, and benchmarks to form a new community and chapter, dissolve a current chapter, move to temporary rebuilding status, and returning to active status
- Develop annual trainings for chapter leaders to help them better understand their roles and responsibilities in reporting to the national organization
- Develop a recovery plan and agreement template for chapters who elect to move to rebuilding status
- Create materials and resources to support new chapter formation
- Work towards creation of new chapters
Communication & Outreach Committee
This committee champions Strategic Blueprint initiatives and other work at the direction of the National Board of Directors related to improving communication and outreach at the national level. This includes establishing a defined brand; improving marketing and public outreach efforts; improving communication of national operations, performance, and benefits; and increasing connections between chapters and members across the country.
In our current Action Plan, some of the specific tasks this committee is working on include:
- Create and share an annual report for members containing financial, membership, and operational metrics
- Establish regular on-going national member communication
- Develop brand identity for WILS
- Encourage chapters to partner with each other for virtual events
- Facilitate annual meetings between chapter leaders
Reach & Relevance Committee
This committee champions Strategic Blueprint initiatives and other work at the direction of the National Board of Directors related to expanding WILS’ reach and relevance across the country and in our industries. This includes initiatives to grow the national membership roster, expand WILS’ diversity and inclusivity, and become a stronger voice and advocate for women in recreation.
In our current Action Plan, some of the specific tasks this committee is working on include:
- Implement software to accept membership applications, renewals, event registration, and sales online
- Increase member participation in WILS national committees
- Improve new member recruitment efforts
- Establish regular opportunities to listen to members
- Work towards growth of membership roster
Member Value Committee
This committee champions Strategic Blueprint initiatives and other work at the direction of the National Board of Directors related to delivering consistent value to our members. This includes offering programs, events and networking opportunities and creating resources and other benefits for members at the national level.
In our current Action Plan, some of the specific tasks this committee is working on include:
- Hold a national virtual one-day conference/event each year
- Hold at least one additional virtual member event during the spring, fall, and winter seasons
- Host national in-person events/socials associated with national conferences & WILS in-person board meetings
- Create/improve online resources for members
- Evaluate recognition/awards and rewards for members
